Terms of Sale

When you purchase goods from Cargobike online or in a physical store, the following terms apply:

Agreement Terms for Cargobike

Cargobike sells online to both private individuals and companies. In the case of sales and exports, we charge for the actual shipping costs unless otherwise agreed. We reserve the right regarding any errors in the product information and reserve the right to change prices without prior notice. Goods ordered via email or online require the details stated in our order forms. An incomplete order—i.e. where information is missing—does not constitute an accepted order. Cargobike only enters into agreements with persons of legal age (18 years).

Prices/Shipping Fees

All prices in the catalog are inclusive of VAT. It is our aim that our prices remain unchanged throughout the year. For imported goods, we reserve the right to adjust prices if exchange rates change significantly.

We reserve the right to perform a customary credit check when purchasing on invoice.

If the credit check is not approved or if delivery is to an address other than the registered address, the shipment will be sent COD. In these cases, an additional fee of 45 EUR is applied (the freight forwarder’s fee for cash handling).

Delivery

When ordering in-stock items on weekdays, the product will be dispatched no later than the next working day and is expected to arrive 1–2 working days thereafter. The delivery times are estimated and we do not guarantee that the items will arrive within the stated time, as unforeseen delays may occur. Should we become aware of any delivery issues—and if you have provided an email address for contact—you will be informed accordingly. In cases of delays that Cargobike can influence, the customer has the right to cancel the purchase. Any advance payment will be refunded within 30 days if the consumer cancels the purchase on accepted grounds.

A full right of return applies within fourteen days from the delivery date, provided that the item is in new condition and remains in its original packaging. The return address is:

General

The provided warranties apply only in the country where the customer purchased the item and only for products acquired for personal use.

Receipt

The provided warranties are valid only upon presentation of a valid proof of purchase.

The receipt also indicates the invoice fee, which is currently 2.5 EUR.

Right of Withdrawal

The right of withdrawal applies when the item is returned in substantially unchanged condition within 14 days from the delivery date. The customer has the right to open the packaging and inspect the item. The customer must arrange the shipping to the designated return address. Any advance payment will be refunded within 30 days if the consumer cancels the purchase on accepted grounds.
For special orders, such as items with logos or vinyl wrapping, returns are not accepted.

Delivery Guarantee

Cargobike guarantees that the delivered item conforms with the stated specifications as well as the customer’s order, and that the item is free from manufacturing defects or other faults at the time of delivery.

In Case of Delivery Damage

The customer is obliged to inspect the item upon receipt to ensure that it is not damaged. If the customer discovers damage to the packaging at delivery, a report must be made immediately to the freight agent or collection point in order for a delivery damage guarantee to be applicable. The report should be made to Cargobike within 1–3 days.

In Case of Incorrect Delivery

The customer is obliged upon receipt to verify that the delivered item matches the order placed. Incorrect delivery means, for example, the wrong color, wrong model, etc. Any discrepancies in the delivery must be reported to Cargobike within a reasonable time. In case of an incorrect delivery, Cargobike reserves the right to supply the customer with a replacement item. Cargobike will cover the arrangements and cost of the return shipment. The item must then be packaged in its original, undamaged packaging.

Guarantee

Guarantee Coverage

• All bicycles come with a 5‑year guarantee against frame breakage.

• For all other parts, the guarantee period is 1 year.

• The guarantee is not extended by replacing parts.

• The guarantee includes that Cargobike will send the necessary replacement parts so that the customer can replace the parts on their own, or as agreed with a local workshop.

• A replacement part does not have to be new but must be in good working condition and at least equivalent to the replaced part.

What the Guarantee Does Not Cover

The guarantee does not cover:

• The chain, drivetrain, cables, spokes, tires, inner tubes, fenders, batteries (for front and rear lights), or chain guard.

• Normal adjustment or calibration activities, such as adjusting gears and brakes, spoke tension, tightening loose screws and nuts, or normal wear and tear.

• Defects arising due to, for example, careless use, moisture, wear, poor maintenance, overloading, or external impact.

• Provided warranties do not include compensation for direct or indirect damage suffered by the customer due to handling errors.

• The guarantee does not include compensating the customer for after-installation or other inconveniences in the form of costs or labor to repair/rectify the bicycle, unless agreed with Cargobike.

• The guarantee also does not cover faults that are insignificant for the bicycle’s function and use.

NOTE!
Please ride with care. Severe impacts, such as curbs, bumps, or uneven surfaces, can be devastating if ridden irresponsibly. Repeated high-speed riding over edges and bumps may weaken the frame. This also applies to overloading (maximum load in the box: 100 kg plus approximately 100 kg for the rider). The bicycle is designed for normal urban riding and is not an off-road vehicle.

Guarantee for E-Bikes

• The battery on the e-bike must not be exposed to extreme heat or water.

• Never charge the battery while it is installed on the bicycle.

• When the bike is not in use, the battery should be stored in a dry and cool place.

• The battery should be maintained with a charge every month if it is not used for an extended period, to retain its full capacity. Only use the original charger.

• The guarantee does not cover batteries older than 1 year, water-damaged batteries with a short circuit or reduced performance, or batteries damaged by an accident or impact on hard surfaces.

Other Guarantee Terms

• Our maintenance instructions are a precondition for the seller’s guarantee terms to apply. (See maintenance instructions.)

• The date on the proof of purchase is considered the purchase date. If a claim is not made within the guarantee period, the customer loses the right to invoke the guarantee.

• In the event of damage or other faults with the item, the customer is obliged to immediately mitigate any further damage that may occur as a result of continued use.

• Should the customer invoke the guarantee, Cargobike, in accordance with the terms stated herein, is obliged to remedy the faults. If Cargobike fails to remedy the faults within 60 days, the customer and Cargobike shall agree on a settlement, which shall never exceed the amount paid by the customer for the item.

Dispute

In the event of a dispute regarding the interpretation or application of these guarantee terms, the parties shall, in the first instance, attempt to resolve the dispute by mutual agreement. The consumer may contact the Consumer Guidance or have the dispute reviewed by the Public Complaints Board. Disputes may always be taken to the regular courts. Swedish law shall apply regarding the implementation, interpretation, and enforcement of all rights and obligations arising from, or in any way related to, the above Guarantee.
