Assembly Instructions: Mini-Mee in Cargobike Nova
Unlike a traditional wooden box, where you need to drill holes in the bottom to install a Mini-Mee bracket, installation in a Nova box requires less preparation. The main advantage is that the bracket is installed using the existing drainage holes in the metal floor.
You will need a different type of screws and nuts, which are included with your order.
Prior to Assembly
We strongly recommend having two people present when tightening the bracket. You will be using the four included screws, washers, and nuts. For installation, you will also need a 10 mm combination wrench and a 4 mm Allen key.
Step-by-step
-
Placement in the box: Place the metal bracket at the bottom of the box. To optimize space and ensure passengers can still use the rear bench, place the bracket in the front section of the box.
-
Align with drainage holes: Align the screw holes on the bracket so they sit directly over the elongated drainage holes in the bottom of the box.
-
Fit the screws: One person holds the screws in place from inside the box, while the second person fits the washers and threads the nuts from underneath the box.
-
Tight space near the head tube: Pay extra attention when securing the nut positioned directly above the bike's head tube/headset bearing. The space between the bearing and the bottom of the box is quite tight, so getting the nut into place may take a little extra patience.
-
Tighten down: Tighten all four nuts completely so the bracket sits fully flush and secure at the bottom.
Once the bracket is in place, the infant car seat can easily be clicked in facing rearward inside the box.
