Schrader Valve or car valve, named after its inventor August Schrader, was patented in 1893 and is used on virtually all car tires around the world but also on bicycles. The advantage of the car valve is that it virtually never breaks, is easy to install, and you can pump up the bicycle at any gas station anywhere.
